Teaching to transgress toolbox
The School of Higher Pedagogical Education Pukllasunchis (EESP) is an alternative institution dedicated to intercultural and decolonial education, located in Cusco, Peru. It trains Quechua-Spanish-speaking teachers from Indigenous communities and grants them a bachelor's degree in education, preparing them to teach in their home territories.
As a lecturer, I led the course Research, Art, and Action, where students developed educational projects through research-creation and collaborative artistic installations. These initiatives aimed to address their community’s needs and promote an inclusive education aligned with the realities of the Andean context.
Continuing my engagement with the EESP, I also worked as an educational engineer, co-developing the institution's curriculum and pedagogical model through participatory workshops with the teaching staff. This process integrated intercultural approaches and active learning methodologies. Additionally, I facilitated co-creation workshops with educators to rethink and innovate teaching practices.
This work has strengthened the connection between local knowledge and contemporary education, fostering a critical, inclusive, and community-rooted learning experience.
